Eight nights gives the Romantic arc five distinct registers: arrival and stillness, wellness for two, the island's cultural world, adventure on the water at night, and the sandbank peak followed by integration and close.
The night fishing Surprise on Night Five is placed before the sandbank deliberately — the couple who has been on the open ocean at midnight in a canoe arrives at the sandbank two nights later with a different relationship to the water. The Shirodhara the morning after the night fishing gives the body exactly what it needs. The cooking class on Day Four creates a shared physical memory — the meal they eat together is one they made together — and deepens every villa dinner that follows.
Phase One
Arrive & Still
Nights 1 – 2 · Private Villa · Zanzibar
Day One
You Have Arrived
Private transfer from the airport — one vehicle, both names on the card. Villa check-in. The concierge shows the space and withdraws. Champagne on the terrace. In-villa dinner on the private terrace, then left entirely. Candles. The ocean. No programme tonight.
Day Two
The Body Arrives
No alarm. Villa terrace breakfast. Late morning: Couples Abhyanga — 90 minutes of synchronised warm oil massage, side by side. Followed by a shared herbal steam bath and a brief Ayurvedic consultation — 20 minutes each — calibrating each partner's individual treatment plan for the wellness days ahead.
The afternoon is free. In the evening, a private sunset dhow cruise — champagne, Stone Town from the water at golden hour, crew of two, no engine noise when the wind is right.

Nights 3 – 4 · Zanzibar
Day Three
Stone Town — For Two
A private Stone Town walk — carved door trail, Darajani Market, old fort, dhow harbour. Private rooftop lunch above the old city. In the afternoon, a spice quarter walk with a Zanzibari herbalist: the medicinal tradition of the Indian Ocean coast, clove for pain, cinnamon for circulation, lemongrass for the nervous system.
In the evening: Forodhani Gardens — no guide, no programme. The couple enters the waterfront market independently. The city's evening, on their own terms.
Day Four
The Swahili Kitchen — Cooking for Each Other
A private Swahili cooking class for two in a Stone Town kitchen — three hours. Pilau rice, coconut fish curry, mandazi. A Zanzibari chef guides without directing. The class ends with the couple eating what they made, alone at a table set in the kitchen. The meal they eat together is one they made together.
The afternoon is free — return to the villa. In-villa dinner: the last quiet evening before the arc deepens into adventure.

A private beach day. The basket gift waiting at the sunbed.

The photographer documents rather than directs.
60 minutes at golden hour. The setting chosen based on what the couple responded to most. Photos delivered to both 72 hours after arrival home, with a short note from the photographer about what they observed.
Day Five · Night
The Fisherman's Ocean
An early in-villa dinner. The night fishing departs at 10pm.
The Ryravel Surprise · Not disclosed in advance
A private night fishing session on the Indian Ocean with a Zanzibari fisherman — traditional outrigger canoe, lanterns at the bow, departure at 10pm. The fisherman works. If the couple wants to fish, they fish. If they want to sit on the open ocean at midnight by lantern light, that is equally correct. Whatever is caught is cooked on a small fire on the boat. The couple eats at midnight on the open water. No land visible. Stars. Back to the villa by 1am.

Rest, Then the Ocean Again
Nights 6 – 7 · Zanzibar
Day Six
The Morning After the Ocean
No alarm. Sleep as long as needed. Late villa breakfast. The body needs this morning.
In the afternoon: Shirodhara for two — warm baobab oil poured continuously over the forehead for 30 minutes each, followed by yoga nidra side by side. The most deeply sedating treatment in the Ayurvedic system. The couple who has been on the open ocean at midnight receives this differently than they would have on Day Two.
In the evening: a private beach dinner — table on the sand, candles, seafood, the Indian Ocean. The integration meal before the sandbank.
Day Seven
The Night on the Ocean
The morning is free. At 4pm, a private dhow departs from the villa beach.
The Sandbank · Night Seven
An uninhabited sandbank in the Indian Ocean. A canvas tent with a proper bed, lanterns, a private cook, a wood fire. The Ryravel team withdraws before the couple arrives. They are the only people visible in any direction. The cook fire. Catch of the day. Champagne. The stars. In the morning a dhow returns before the tide. The couple who spent Night Five on the open ocean in a canoe arrives at this sandbank with a different relationship to the water.

Integration & Close
Nights 8 – 9 · Zanzibar
Day Eight
Return — The Slowest Day
Return to the villa by 9am. The day after the sandbank belongs entirely to the couple — no programme. In the evening: celebration dinner at the best table on the island. The Ryravel host joins for the first glass, then withdraws. A single rose and a sealed note on the table.
Day Nine
Late Checkout — The Return Begins
The last villa morning. One Departure Box left on the pillow. One at the breakfast table. 1pm guaranteed checkout. A private vehicle to the airport. Two sealed letters from Maryangel — one per person. Nine nights. The spice kitchen, the night ocean, the sandbank. All of it sealed.
